{"id":74,"date":"2016-05-12T14:24:33","date_gmt":"2016-05-12T14:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/en\/?page_id=74"},"modified":"2018-06-08T03:41:44","modified_gmt":"2018-06-08T03:41:44","slug":"what-we-do","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/en\/about-us\/what-we-do\/","title":{"rendered":"What We Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<h1>What We Do<\/h1>\n<h2>Types of Activities<\/h2>\n<p>UJE\u2019s focus is on three fundamental, mutually supportive sets of activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholarly and educational initiatives, in particular, the development of a \u201cshared historical narrative\u201d that engages leading scholars and experts from around the world to produce a truthful and insightful account of the Ukrainian-Jewish relationship over the centuries;<\/li>\n<li>Creation of a range of products and events informed by the shared historical narrative, designed to reach wide audiences in Ukraine, Israel, and the diasporas. These include web-based resources; books and other publications on relevant themes; multi-media exhibits, podcasts, and educational materials; documentary films; seminars, conferences, public meetings and events; and special projects;<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy on issues that have the potential of addressing historic wounds, such as restoring awareness about prewar Jewish life on Ukrainian lands; acknowledging authoritative scholarly findings regarding the past in Ukraine; and protection and respectful treatment of mass grave sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since its inception, UJE has inaugurated and supported a variety of well-received projects to advance understanding between Ukrainians and Jews.
