After the\u00a0\u201cIsrael\u2019s Experience of Nation-Building: Lessons for Ukraine\u201d<\/a> conference, that was held by the New Europe Center\u00a0and\u00a0Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter,\u00a0members of the Israeli delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the Jewish Diaspora, Ukrainian political and public figures, as well as the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Among Israeli delegation was\u00a0Dan Mariashin, Executive Vice President of the Jewish Human Rights Organization B\u2019nai Brith International,\u00a0Rabbi Michael Melchior, Former Minister for Diaspora and Social Policy and Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel,\u00a0Dan Meridor, President of the Israeli Foreign Affairs Council, Minister of Justice (1988-1992) and Vice Prime Minister (2009-2013) of Israel,\u00a0Major General Yaakov Amidror, Chairman of the National Security Council of Israel (2011-2013),\u00a0Einat Wilf, public intellectual, Member of the Knesset (2011-2013),\u00a0Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress,\u00a0Andrew Srulevitch,\u00a0Director of European Affairs of the Anti-Defamation League,\u00a0Ariel Rodal-Spieler, Head Writer, IDC Herzliya,\u00a0Wolf Moskovich, Chairperson of the Department of Russian and Slavic Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1976-2004),\u00a0Berel Rodal, Chair of the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter Advisory Board.<\/p>\n

In the morning the Israeli delegation held a breakfast with representatives of the Jewish Diaspora in Ukraine, attended by Borys Lozhkin,\u00a0Deputy Chairman of the National Council for Reforms,\u00a0Leonid Finberg, director of the \u0421enter for Eastern European Jewish History and Culture Studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy,\u00a0Josef Zissels, Co-chair of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaad), Executive Vice President of the Congress of Ethnic Communities of Ukraine,\u00a0Andriy Adamovsky, Co-chair of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaad),\u00a0Vyacheslav Likhachov, Head of the \u201cAnalytics\u201d Program (Eurasian Jewish Congress, EJC), and of the National Minorities Rights Monitoring Group. Also a group of representatives of the Israeli delegation visited the Security Service of Ukraine, where a meeting with the Head of the SBU Vasyl Hrytsak was held.<\/p>\n

Another group of representatives of the Israeli delegation visited the Verkhovna Rada, where he met with People\u2019s Deputies of Ukraine:\u00a0Voitsitska Viktoriia (\u201cSAMOPOMICH\u201d Union\u201d),\u00a0Sydorovych Ruslan (\u201cSAMOPOMICH\u201d Union\u201d),\u00a0Prodan Oksana\u00a0(\u201cPetro Poroshenko Bloc\u201d),\u00a0Bereza Boryslav\u00a0(Non-affiliated People\u2019s Deputy),\u00a0Logvynskyi Heorhii (\u201cPeople\u2019s Front\u201d). In the evening the Israeli delegation held a meeting on the issues of Ukraine\u2019s politics of memory.\u00a0Among the invited guests at this meeting were\u00a0Volodymyr Viatrovych, Director of the Institute for National Memory,\u00a0Henadiy Verbilenko, General Director of the Holocaust Memorial Center \u201cBabyn Yar\u201d,\u00a0Yana Barinova, Executive Director of the Holocaust Memorial Center \u201cBabyn Yar\u201d.
