Discussants were historian <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yaroslav_Hrytsak\">Yaroslav Hrytsak<\/a>, one of Ukraine\u2019s leading public intellectuals who is a professor at Lviv\u2019s Ukrainian Catholic University; <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yosyf_Zisels\">Iosif Zissels<\/a>, the former Soviet dissident who is chairman of the Vaad Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine; and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Freiman\">Mark Freiman<\/a>, board member of the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter and former head of the Canadian Jewish Congress, offered their views on a wide-range of topics vis-a-vis Ukrainians and Jews, ranging from history to current affairs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/media\/London_presentation_transcript_Eng.pdf\">Click here<\/a> for an English transcript of the event, which was held at the Jewish Community Centre JW3 and was supported by the Ukrainian Institute London and the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yaob6RE6nnA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A milestone discussion \u201cJews and new Ukraine\u201d took place in London on 29 January 2019.
