{"id":22541,"date":"2022-06-13T15:42:13","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T19:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/?p=22541"},"modified":"2023-10-26T16:26:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T20:26:02","slug":"awarding-ceremony-for-the-winners-of-the-uje-childrens-drawing-contest-and-exhibition-opening-in-kyiv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/en\/awarding-ceremony-for-the-winners-of-the-uje-childrens-drawing-contest-and-exhibition-opening-in-kyiv\/","title":{"rendered":"Awarding ceremony for the winners of the UJE children's drawing contest and exhibition opening in Kyiv"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>On 25 January 2022, the Sholem Aleichem Museum in Kyiv hosted the grand opening of the exhibition of works by participants of the All-Ukrainian Children's Drawing Contest \"Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: Our Stories Are Incomplete Without Each Other.\" The contest was held among high-school students to deepen their understanding of the breadth, complexity, and diversity of Ukrainian-Jewish relations over the centuries with a view to the future. Other goals included a better understanding of shared historical experience, fostering a tolerant and aware attitude towards interethnic relations, and identifying, selecting, and supporting talented youth.<\/p>\n<p>Young artists from different parts of Ukraine took part in the contest.<\/p>\n<p>A professional international jury was formed to evaluate the works and select the winners.<\/p>\n<p>The winners were awarded cash prizes from the contest's main organizer \u2014 the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter, a Canadian charitable non-profit organization.
