The idea for the thematic issue No. 34 of the magazine Ukraina Moderna<\/em> arose before the start of Russia's large-scale war against Ukraine, but the issue itself was released after the war\u2019s first year. Most of the texts were also written before 24 February 2022. During this time, after the tragedies of Bucha and Nova Kakhovka, the study of genocides in Ukraine ceased to be a purely academic concept. Accordingly, the history of the Holocaust on Ukrainian lands takes on a new tone. The study of the Holocaust provides the key to a better understanding of what is being done or may happen to us. This is especially important in the case of Ukraine, which occupies an important place in the history of the Holocaust and in which genocide has returned with modern warfare. During the presentation of the issue, also discussed were the current historiographical trends in the field of Holocaust studies in Ukraine and the modern policy of commemorating its victims.<\/p>\n

Ukraina Moderna\u2019s<\/em> thematic issue No. 34 can be obtained through the University of Toronto Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This Ukrainian-language event was held on 8 October 2023 in cooperation with the \"Territory of Terror\" Museum, the NGO \"Publisher's Forum\" and the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter.<\/p>\n
