\"seminar-propaganda\"Young scholars, activists and military cadets were among the participants of a groundbreaking international seminar that investigated the effects and consequences of propaganda used by totalitarian regimes within the context of the planning and implementation of three very different examples of totalitarian mass killings in Ukraine: Stalin\u2019s Holodomor, the deportation and destruction of Ukraine\u2019s Crimean Tatars and Hitler's Holocaust.<\/p>\n

Held in two Ukrainian cities \u2013 Kyiv and Lviv \u2013 this was the first time these tragedies were discussed jointly before a wide Ukrainian audience. Over 500 people attended the seminar, which was titled \u201cThe Seduction of Propaganda: Mass Violence in Ukraine in the 20th and 21st Centuries\u201d.<\/p>\n

The conference was supported by the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter. The co-organizer was the Holodomor Ukrainian Research Center, with the support of Ukrainian House at the European Square; Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaad); Institute of History of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Tkuma Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies; Community of Crimean Tatars; Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies.<\/p>\n
