This novel comes against the backdrop of Marsha\u2019s hugely popular World War II Making Bombs for Hitler trilogy young people.<\/p>\n<p>The book is inspired by the true story of Krystia Korpan, whose childhood in Pidhaitsi, Ukraine was a framework for the novel. Korpan was present at the event and received a standing ovation for the courage she showed during some of the darkest days of Ukraine\u2019s World War II history.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/media\/Dont-tell-the-enemy_Small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9476 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ukrainianjewishencounter.org\/media\/Dont-tell-the-enemy_Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"244\" height=\"378\" \/><\/a>Forchuk Skrypuch has received many honors for her twenty-plus books. These include the Ontario Library Association Silver Birch Award twice, the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Award, the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People, the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award, the Calliope Award for mentorship and excellence in writing from Humber School for Writers and was named a Canadian Ukrainian Woman of Distinction by the World Congress of Ukrainian Women\u2019s Organizations.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, Forchuk Skrypuch was bestowed with the Order of Princess Olha by Ukraine\u2019s president in recognition of her children's book <em>Enough<\/em> which was set during the Holodomor in Soviet Ukraine. Her book <em>Adrift at Sea<\/em> about Vietnamese Boat People was included in an exhibit for Pope Francis in Bologna, Italy last year.<\/p>\n<p><em>Don\u2019t Tell the Enemy<\/em> is the first book in a new trilogy planned by Forchuk Skrypuch.
