An insightful discussion, sponsored by UJE, took place in Kyiv at the YES Annual Meeting on the topic “Antisemitism in Ukraine: Russian Disinformation and On-the-Ground Reality” on 14 September 2018. Participants spoke on a wide array of related issues, ranging from analyses of recent studies that show Ukraine has one of the lowest rates of antisemitism in Europe, to tactics used by the Kremlin to discredit Ukraine.
The participants of this engaging panel were some of the most prominent minds engaged in Ukrainian-Jewish relations and issues related to Ukraine. They included John Herbst, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, who is now director of The Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center; Bernard-Henry Levy, philosopher and author; Vyacheslav Likhachev, historian, journalist, political scientist and social activist; Vladyslav Davidzon, journalist and editor of The Odessa Review; Berel Rodal, Board Member and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter; and Adrian Karatnycky, UJE’s Co-Director.
