Israelis demand their prime minister help Ukraine
Anna Zharova, the co-chair of the Israeli Friends of Ukraine NGO, addressed Israelis on 3 March 2022 on Facebook who feel for and express solidarity with Ukraine during Russia's aggression:
You and I have achieved a lot with our actions:
- Israel's recognition that Russia is an aggressor country.
- Signing a resolution in the United Nations condemning the actions of the aggressor country.
- Cancellation of the shameful decision to close the borders for refugees from Ukraine and demand of a 10,000 shekel bail.
The most important thing is left! Fight for the lives of our loved ones and relatives!
We go out to [Prime Minister Naftali] Bennett's house on Saturday, 5 March, to demand strict sanctions against Russia and start helping [Ukraine] with armor and helmets!
Today the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a press conference. In a conversation with journalists, he said: "I saw footage where Jews are standing at the Wailing Wall, wrapped in Ukrainian flags. But I don't feel that their Prime Minister is also with our flag."
Israel is still trying to maintain neutrality. Although it provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine and condemns the Russian invasion.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel asked Jerusalem to hand over helmets and armor vests to his country. Including first responders. Israel refuses to transfer any weapon or equipment to Kyiv that can be used even for defense purposes.
If Bennett does not hear the calls of the President of Ukraine, let him hear us then!
