The Edmonton Jewish community is invited to attend a very special exhibit organized by the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter (UJE) entitled A Journey through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: From Antiquity to 1914. The travelling community exhibition, created by the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter and co-funded by the Government of Canada, will open in Edmonton on Tuesday August 4 and runs until August 18 at St. John’s Institute 11024 – 82 Avenue in Edmonton.
The Jewish presence in Ukraine dates back 2,000 years. A traveling exhibit highlighting and exploring the relationship between the two communities – “A Journey Through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter from Antiquity to 1914” – was recently mounted by the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter (UJE), which since 2008 has been studying and supporting this encounter.
