UJE Board Member Paul Robert Magocsi spoke about Ukraine, statehood, and interethnic relations at France’s famed INALCO (Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales) as part of its «Bibliothèque ukrainienne» series on 16–17 September 2025.

The video below is of Prof. Magocsi’s discussion of the newly published French language edition of Ukraina Redux: On Statehood and National Identity (L’Ukraine restituée: Souveraineté étatique et identité nationale), which he authored.

The moderator was Iryna Dmytrychyn, Head of Ukrainian studies at INALCO. She also manages projects aimed at promoting Ukraine, its culture and history in Western Europe.

Ukrainian Jewish Encounter Timeline wins international recognition while countering Russian propaganda

Encounter: The Ukrainian-Jewish Literary Prize  

The 'Encounter' prize aims to build on the common experiences of Ukrainians and Jews over the centuries, expressed in literature and nonfiction. The Prize will be awarded annually to the most influential work in literature and nonfiction (in alternate years) that fosters Ukrainian-Jewish understanding, helping solidify Ukraine's place as a multi-ethnic society and giving truth to the motto, "Our stories are incomplete without each other."
