Toronto Annual Ukrainian Famine Lecture. “The Fields of Sorrow: Mapping the Great Ukrainian Famine”

On November 11, 2016, in the frame of events organized by Holodomor Research and Education Consortium, Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, a lecture “The Fields of Sorrow: Mapping the Great Ukrainian Famine” by Serhii Plokhy will be held at Toronto University.

Serhii Plokhy is Mykhailo S. Hrushevs'kyi Professor of Ukrainian History; Director, Ukrainian Research Institute, Harvard University. He is also a board member of the Canadian charitable organization Ukrainian Jewish Encounter.

In addition to the lecture, Prof. Plokhy will participate in a roundtable on researching and writing history with graduate students at the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (CERES), University of Toronto. Co-sponsors are: the Petro Jacyk Program for the Study of Ukraine at CERES, the Canadian Foundation for Ukrainian Studies, the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre, and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (Toronto branch).
