Joint Ukrainian-American photo exhibition titled "United by Liberty" opens in Kyiv

On 2 July, a joint Ukrainian-American photo exhibition titled "United by Liberty" that marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence was opened at the Motherland Monument in Kyiv.
The exhibition was developed by Ukraine’s War Museum and the U.S. National Park Service in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. It marks the 140th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, creating a symbolic dialogue with Ukraine’s Motherland Monument, which personifies the Ukrainian people’s freedom, resilience, and struggle for independence.

Welcoming speeches at the opening were delivered by Yurii Savchuk, Director General of the War Museum, and representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. Musical accompaniment for the event was provided by the Alliance Brass Quintet of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Band and the Ensemble of Soloists of Ukraine’s Cultural Forces, who concluded the program with a joint performance of “Amazing Grace.”

Vladyslav Hrynevych, Jr., UJE’s regional manager in Ukraine, also participated in the event at the invitation of the War Museum. He informally interacted with many figures who are well-known in Ukraine and abroad at and after the event, shared information about UJE’s activities, and presented several UJE-supported books.

Jews and Ukrainians: A Millennium of Co-Existence was presented, among others, to Elmar Rakhmanov, Chief Advisor of GA Telesis for the Ukrainian market.

As is known, the United States is home to the second-largest Jewish community in the world (after Israel) and the third-largest Ukrainian community in the world (after Ukraine and Canada).
