Magocsi and Petrovsky-Shtern on Jews and Ukrainians

UJE board member Paul Robert Magocsi has traveled extensively over the last two years promoting Jews and Ukrainians: A Millennium of Co-Existence, the book he co-authored with Yohanan Petrovsky-Shtern. This spring, the two authors surprised everyone when they found themselves together in Kyiv and despite busy schedules, were able to jointly discuss the book at the Kyiv Politechnical Institute. Magocsi presented a new lecture during their appearance highlighting new and former trends in Ukrainian-Jewish relations, while Petrovsky-Shtern offered insights on challenges that faced Jews in the Soviet Union based on his own experiences, among other questions.

Several weeks later, Magocsi appeared at JW3, the Jewish Community Centre in London, with his engaging lecture that left both speaker and participants with a better understanding of the Ukrainian-Jewish relationship and in agreement about the need for an ongoing dialogue between these two peoples.
