Kyiv's Jewish Community leader shares the latest on the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Anatoliy Shengait did not leave Kyiv this weekend for two reasons: because he has a 96-year old Holocaust survivor father who is too fragile to travel, but also because Shengait is executive director of Kyiv's Jewish community, numbering about 20,000 people. He's been staying inside his home since Friday night, when Russian bombs started falling on the city. He tells The CJN Daily's Ellin Bessner what life is like under siege, and why he fears Jews and Ukrainians may face another massacre like the one that took place in Kyiv under the Nazis at Babi Yar some 80 years ago, unless the world helps.
