U.S. Embassy representatives visit UJE's office in Ukraine

On 12 June, representatives of the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Department of State visited the Ukrainian office of the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter. The delegation included Matthew Bikoff, Cultural Coordinator, U.S. Department of State, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs; Erin Robertson, Public Diplomacy Officer, U.S. Embassy Kyiv; Oleksandra Haidai, Public Engagement Assistant, U.S. Embassy Kyiv; and Vira Maksymova, Public Diplomacy Specialist, U.S. Embassy.

The visit was prompted by the American side's interest in UJE's activities in Ukraine and its desire to learn more about the organization's current initiatives and lines of work.

During the meeting, Vladyslav Hrynevych, Jr., UJE's regional manager in Ukraine, presented the organization's main areas of activity, initiatives, and educational, cultural, and multimedia projects. The guests watched a video about "A Journey Through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: From antiquity to 1939," a museum and exhibition project that highlighted the initiative's concept and content.

Each visitor was presented with books published with UJE's support. A tentative agreement on future cooperation to develop interethnic relations in Ukraine was reached.
