The 22nd Annual Toronto Ukrainian Festival, the largest Ukrainian festival in North America, this year welcomed the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minster of Canada, who along with other senior government officials, met with UJE Chairman James Temerty and was briefed about UJE’s valuable accomplishments and future plans.

Many of the close to 1,500 visitors to UJE’s cultural pavilion enjoyed a complimentary copy our new publication A Journey Through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: From Antiquity to 1914. Festival visitors quickly spread the word about this exquisite and informative book to their friends, who in turn stopped by to pick up not only their own copy but extra copies to send to their friends and relatives. In addition to the display panels, UJE’s new brochure also provided our visitors with information about the important work UJE is doing in North America and in Ukraine.

The Festival Marshal Michael Bociurkiw, a global analyst, writer, and contributor to CNN.com and former spokesperson for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, visited UJE’s pavilion and shared his appreciation of UJE and the great work it does.

We are very pleased with the reach and impact we have achieved at this year’s festival and look forward to another stellar showing at next year’s Toronto Ukrainian Festival.
