Repatriates from Ukraine to Israel to receive additional funding

Israel’s immigrant absorption ministry on 3 August 2014 approved additional payments to repatriates from Ukraine. The funds to help Jews who repatriated to Israel from Ukraine in 2014 are in addition to monies already allocated to immigrants.

The ministry decided on additional funding "in connection with an emergency situation at which it is obvious that repatriates leave Ukraine in military conditions, in most cases, without means of support and therefore need the additional help."

Jews who repatriated to Israel from Ukraine since 1 June 2014 will receive additional funding based on the following calculations:

  • A single individual will receive 6,000 shekels (approximately $ 1,700 USD)
  • A family of two individuals will receive 11,000 shekels (approximately $ 3,000 USD)
  • A family of three or more individuals will receive 15,000 shekels (approximately $ 4,500 USD)
