The book series "Jewish Library" is a collection of the best works about the contribution of the Jewish people to world history, about Israel and its brightest representatives. The series includes books that have not been translated into Ukrainian before. The purpose of the series is to acquaint Ukrainian readers with literature related to Jewish world heritage.
The founders of the series are the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine together with The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and the "Princes of Ostroh Foundation" of the Yuriy and Iryna Lutsenko family. The series is published by Ukraine's Nash Format publishing house.
The presentation of the series took place within the framework of the Lviv Publishers' Forum together with the Kyiv Jewish Forum. The discussion was part of UJE's special program at the 28BookForum.
The first book in the series is Daniel Gordis' Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn, which was the 2016 National Jewish Book Awards Winner as Book of the Year. The book has been translated into English, Japanese, Chinese, Romanian and Russian. The Ukrainian translation is published for the first time in the" Jewish Library" series.
